Last Day
I officially finished my last day of the third year of medical school yesterday. I went down in style. I had one patient walking through the ward smoking a tampon like a cigarrette. I had a little mexian patient tell me "I just can't get rid of this bloody accent", in the worst fake British accent I have ever heard. And, I had another patient tell me that I had to leave the room because I was being motivated by evil spirits. Now, I have always tried to be motivated by good, even Godly spirits, but this man saw the evil within me. I think I accidently clicked my pen, and that is why he sensed my evil motivations. So, all in all it was just another day at work. I am however glad to be done with the third year, and I am very ready to move on. I start off my 4th year with a bang. Dad and I are going to costa rica for the month on a medical mission. I then get to spend a few weeks at home before I take the second part of my licensing exam. After that, the military gets me for two months. Then off to Alaska! Quite a bit of traveling coming up for me, but I can't wait. At least it will get me away from the blazing hot Arizona summer. Oh ya, I finally got my new camera, so hopefully some more pictures will be coming shortly:)

Elderly beat down
first of all, I think our society underestimates the sheer strength of the elderly population. When given the right motive and opportunity, the over 65 population can give a pretty mean a** whoopin. I was officially jumped by a 66 year old lady at work yesterday. Some of you may know that I am currently working at an emergent psychiatric center, so needless to say this lady was a little nuts. While she may have protrayed herself as a kindly frail old lady, she was actually a deceptively strong and somewhat vicious woman on the prowl. With my back turned this older woman lept from the shadows and pounced upon me. In my horror and fear of hurting her, I froze under the attack. As the woman pushed me and pulled at my clothes our tussell was seen by the lingering staff members. They rushed to my aid and managed to pry the crazy old bat off of me. It wasn't until the woman was pulled away and pinned to the ground that I realized I had received a beat down from an old timer. It has been the antisocial psychotic men that I have been weary of since the start of the rotation, I now know it to be the sly elderly folks who pose the greatest threat. The moral being, don't underestimate the slightly aged members of our society.
